Hotel Katia

A family run hotel characterized by cordiality and availability. Literally on the sea, with a truly enchanting view from both the front and side rooms. We stayed for 12 days with family. Although we have 2 children we understand the annoyance they can cause when they exaggerate. Although I tried to educate them to respect others, when they let themselves go (it's physiological, as children), we never received calls from other people because we were the first to call them to respect tones and manners. The cuisine is varied and well prepared, some truly exceptional dishes! The portions were not excessive but more than enough to fill you with pleasure and taste. Certainly a choice that cuts down on the waste that is observed in many hotels where you prefer to satiate your eyes. The breakfast is also good, rich and varied. Perfect room cleaning. The room was without air conditioning (as specified in the booking email) but equipped with an adequate fan. Large bathroom without shower cubicle but given the perfect cleaning of the ladies every morning it came back perfect. The only limitation that a stay in the Lido Riccio area could have is the lack of a promenade. If you want to find an ice cream parlor or take a walk, you have to travel by car. For us it was a perfect holiday, full of relaxation and tranquility. Last positive note, perfect sea for children and well-kept and clean beach. Thanks again, in particular to Ms Valeria and Selvaggia, we will be back with pleasure.

We were guests for almost two weeks and it was truly a relaxing stay. The convenience of having direct access to the beach is unmatched. The cuisine is excellent, every day different courses. The family management makes everything more cordial and at the same time discreet, the staff in the dining room is very kind and attentive to the needs of the guests. Giovanna, Selvaggia and the other ladies (forgive me if I forget the names) always welcomed us with a smile and made our stay as pleasant as possible. Excellent cleaning of the rooms with very kind staff. For those who love snorkelling, I point out that the beach has, a few tens of meters from the shore, a chain of rocks and in 5 minutes on foot you can reach the promontory. The waters are rich in fish, shrimp, crabs and anemones. The property is just a few minutes from Ortona or Francavilla. What to say? To try!!!

I am forced to give one star since it is not possible to give anything below zero. Let me start by saying that I have been frequenting Lido Riccio for many years, we have already had bad experiences in past years with this seaside lido. Since it is usually not crowded, my group and I often stop to eat at the "bar". Today's experience completely overturned my already uncertain opinion on this "establishment": I was calmly taking advantage of the service made available to everyone, since no sign specified that it could be used only and exclusively by customers, when the owner (I think) he verbally attacked me, using seriously rude tones and terms, shouting and telling me several times to disappear from his sight because not only had I used the totally free and public shower but also because I had let water drip onto a small part of the previously cleaned floor . Obviously there was little to discuss with these people who demonstrate a high level of bad manners, so I didn't respond in kind and preferred to leave since my level of courtesy is certainly higher than his. I'm no one to criticize, but I wanted to share my experience with anyone who plans to go there as I wouldn't want other people to encounter unpleasant situations similar to mine; I don't add words about "food" and "location". I would conclude by saying that I strongly advise against anyone spending a day in this establishment because of the people who run it.
